NYC Hotspot Find: Mozzarella e Vino

NYC Hotspot Find: Mozzarella e Vino | meltingbutter.com

Midtown has got to be one of my least favourite dining destinations in NYC. I’m pretty sure local New Yorkers and tourists alike have gone for an inspiring trip to MoMa, left feeling famished with zero decent restaurant options (that don’t equal the price of a limb). Enter Mozzarella e Vino a casual yet elegant enoteca specialising in Italian cuisine from Naples.

If the choice is yours, get a table in the outside patio – the atmosphere at dusk is enchanting. Then, do the obligatory mozzarella tasting (they raise their own buffalos in Italy, make the cheese and ship it fresh to NYC!). Follow up with the meatballs, which are as they say just like nonna used to make them – only these meatballs are cooked by an only-Italian speaking chef that the owners have moved here all the way from Sicily.

Best Bit: George the restaurant manager’s warmth, openness and passion for the food will surely rub off on your experience at this restaurant.
